General Mental Health

  • Mental health is described as one’s emotional, social, and psychological well-being at a given time, as opposed to having or not having the presence of a psychiatric condition. It is how we think, feel, and act. The quality of a person’s mental health is often measured by self and others by how adaptively they can cope with everyday stressors.

  • Our therapist work towards increasing a person’s mental health and well-being in the following ways:

    • Identifying and problem solving vulnerabilities to emotional experiences

    • Introducing adaptive coping skills to foster resiliency

    • Increasing life satisfaction by identifying and working towards goals

    • Increasing emotional and cognitive flexibility

    • Increasing quality of social supportiveness in a person’s environment
