Parenting Difficulties
-
Parenting and/or caregiver difficulties take different shapes and forms depending on the given parent-child relationship. While it is expected for there to be stressors in the parenting process, the fact that it is expected does not make it any less real or distressing. When these difficulties increase in intensity or frequency, it may be in your best interest to seek professional support. Some difficulties in parenting that we hear of often are:
Overuse of digital devices
Lack of common interests
Emotion and/or behavioral dysregulation
Inconsistent use of reinforcement or discipline
Difference in morals and values
Conflict between siblings
Shyness in interacting with family members or peers
Lying behaviors
Non-completion of activities of daily living
