ABA & Autism Spectrum Disorder

Services

Recently, adaptations to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) including Radically Open (RO) DBT and “Standard” DBT have shown promise in supporting adults with ASD

Our team works with individuals of all age ranges who have autism spectrum diagnoses. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is essential for developing a treatment plan to target all aspects of functioning.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA therapy), is a method of assessment and treatment that helps us understand behavior and how to apply it to real situations. Each treatment plan is individualized to increase helpful behaviors and decrease behaviors that may be harmful or disruptive to daily life.

ABA involves many flexible strategies that can be implemented in anyone’s life. These strategies include exposure, positive reinforcement, natural environment training, and modeling. ABA can be beneficial for a wide range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, ODD, Intellectual disabilities, OCD and many more. Therapy is often provided in different environments to increase succession rates and support clients and families. Sessions vary in time, location and are often offered everyday (in an “intensive” format), depending on the client’s individual goals.

ABA therapy is helpful with the following:

  • Executive functioning skills

  • Social Skills

  • Cognitive flexibility

  • Language or communication skills

  • Daily Living skills

  • Impulsive or harmful behaviors

  • And much more
